The laboratory of Environmental Chemical Biology & Biocatalysis Division, led by Primary Investig-ator Dr. Ping Xu, is a division of the State Key Laboratory of Microbial Technology at Shandong Univer-sity. Our research interests include Modern Biotechnology (metabolic engineering of amino acid prod-uction, biochemical engineering, high-density cultivation of transgenic microbes and production of value-added pharmaceutical intermediates), Applied Environmental Microbiology and Chemical Biolo-gy (metabolism and bioconversion of lone-pair electron heterocycles, bioremediation of petroleum contamination and waste water treatment). Made up of over 40 members, our research group is an energetic team, aiming to make a difference in the academia both home and abroad. We welcome prospective students who have a passion for biological sciences to join us, especially those with a strong background in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Scienc-es, Pharmaceutics, Proteomics and Bioinformatics.
